Pour quoi frog?

Why frogs? Well, why not. These frogs are for Darcy, who has been in isolation in The Sydney Children's Hospital. If you want to follow Darcy's progress check out the journal updates here: www.caringbridge.org/visit/darcygilmour10/journal

If you want to make a frog you can find instructions at: http://www.savethefrogs.com/teachers/images/Origami-Jumping-Frog.pdf .

If frogs are beyond you, you can also give blood. Details of how available from the Australian Red Cross Blood Service.

Performance Anxiety

Life as a member of a crack troop of synchronised acrobats is not always easy.

The constant demand for perfection can leave one feeling somewhat stretched.

Or tied up...
...in...
...knots.

Acrobatic Frog Stack

The Poison Arrow Acrobat Troupe decide to try a new trick.
The Stack.

It's not as easy...
.. as it looks.

But it can be done.

As long as you don't mind a horizontal stack rather than a vertical one.

"Ta da!!!"

Shoot that poison arrow

The Poison Arrow Frogs are here.

They have a penchant for bright colours and don't actually mind being noticed.

But they also draw inspiration from some other "arrows".

The Red Arrows of the Royal Airforce - a crack team of showoffs aeronautical acrobats.

The frogs are not yet ready for flight, but they start to practice a few synchronised moves within the safety of the hotel.

Having mastered the sink, they ask themselves: "Are we ready for synchronised diving?"

When crime pays

New Frog and Fiendish Friend have been successful.

They've offloaded the Salmon from the Sushi train.  Now it is time to share.

But wait...

What's happening here? New Frog has possession of the chopsticks.

Sometimes crime does pay... but the distribution of wealth is not always equal.

(P.S. We are pleased to report that despite the photographic evidence, the Fiendish Friend actually got himself outside a fair chunk of the spoils.  And picked up some cooking tips for when he attempts the Iron Frog Sushi Challenge.)

Train ride

New Frog In Town and his Fiendish Friend decide, like Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, that they are going to hold up a train.

What kind of train?

A Sushi Train, of course.

New Frog does the reconnaissance work.

"There's some salmon coming up - better get ready."

No one can hear you scream

So it may be true that in space no one can hear you scream.

But that ain't necessarily so down here on earth.

Here's a dude we've met before doing a fine impersonation of a chicken.

Which is impressive considering he's a frog.

Ducks in Space?

Japanese tree frogs have been to Space.

Apparently a couple of them went with a Japanese journo when he went to Mir.

And the mating call of the Japanese tree frog (which may or may not have been heard in space*) sounds like a duck.

Could there be ducks in space?

* remember, in space, no one can hear you quack.
