As flexible as a frog

Grandpa frog likes to keep fit.

Here he's getting ready to do pushups.

Touch his toes.

And, of course, he can still do the splits.

But even Grandpa Frog draws the line somewhere.

Grandpa Frog always has time for the kids. 

 He is happy to sit telling stories for hours and hours ...

Well, when I was a tadpole....

 He plays games...

And takes his turn at being tickled.

Even  when it makes him laugh til he falls over.

He's a kindly frog who takes an interest in the world aroud him...

...and likes to make his presence felt...

... by getting up close.

New frog in town

Seems there's a new frog in town.

Or maybe an old frog.

Either way, we are pleased to introduce Grandpa Frog.

He's brought himself in from the pond to keep an eye on young Darcy and the hospital team. You might be seeing him around from time to time.

Birthday frogs

Someone not entirely unconnected with this blog had a birthday the other week.

(No - not Darcy. His birthday is in May).

And what better way to way to mark an anniversary than with cake?

 Frog cake.

It was delicious.

A good birthday also requires presents. 

Look closely and you'll see that next to my beautiful birthday scarf I'm wearing a birthday brooch.

An origami silk frog, handmade by my gorgeous niece Rosemary.

Now Toads are stamping too
