Pour quoi frog?

Why frogs? Well, why not. These frogs are for Darcy, who has been in isolation in The Sydney Children's Hospital. If you want to follow Darcy's progress check out the journal updates here: www.caringbridge.org/visit/darcygilmour10/journal

If you want to make a frog you can find instructions at: http://www.savethefrogs.com/teachers/images/Origami-Jumping-Frog.pdf .

If frogs are beyond you, you can also give blood. Details of how available from the Australian Red Cross Blood Service.

Where's the cheese, Gromit?

When Wallace and Gromit want cheese, they go to the moon.
Frog, however, decides it is easy to make cheese himself. Or to get minions to make it for him.

"I want camembert" he says. "Make it so".

First, the42 degree milk is poured into a sterilised container and the starter, the mould, the rennet and the calcium are added.
(Yes, I said mould).

After a period of quiet reflection the minions test the development of the curd.

It is satisfactory, so Frog permits the minions to proceed to slicing of the curd.

A little while later the curds are turned to help expel the whey.

Then the minons start to fill the little cheese pots.

"Wait!" screams Frog. "Let me see".

The pots are left on the sink to drain.  Once they shrink to about a third of the size, Frog will permit them to be dried, brined, dried again and then left to sit in a humidicrib and grow mould.
Watch this space for the results.
